TDP Research Training Workshop (Virtual)
The Dolphin Project (TDP) offers a virtual training workshop for individuals interested in supporting our photo-identification dolphin research program.
This session is approximately three hours in length and is divided into two components.
Part 1: Coastal Ecology & Dolphin Biology
An overview of the coastal ecosystem and estuarine bottlenose dolphin population, including anatomy, behavior, and ecological significance.
Part 2: Research Survey Protocol
Detailed instruction on TDP’s photo-identification survey methodology, field roles, safety expectations, and data collection procedures.
Completion of both components is required for eligibility to participate in TDP research surveys. Participants must be at least 16 years of age to join a survey crew.
Survey roles include:
- Skipper
- Team Leader
- Assistant Team Leader
- Photographer
