Training with The Dolphin Project
Before participating in surveys, all volunteers complete a training session to learn our research methods and field protocols.
Training ensures that every team member understands how to safely and accurately collect data that contributes to long-term dolphin research.
What to Expect
- Learn about local bottlenose dolphins and their behavior
- Understand photo-identification
- Review survey roles and responsibilities
- Get familiar with data survey sheets used in the field.
Who Can Attend
- Must be 12 years or older.
- Attendees under18 years of age, must attend training with a parent or guardian.
After Training
Once you’ve completed training, you’ll be eligible to sign up for upcoming surveys.
After completing training, you’ll be eligible to join upcoming surveys in roles such as:
- Skipper
- Team Leader
- Assistant Team Leader
- Photographer
