Membership in THE DOLPHIN PROJECT supports our scientific research of local estuarine Bottlenose dolphins, conservation of the environment, and our Education Outreach programs. Without membership dues we could not complete our mission and would cease to exist. TDP membership is critical to achieve our goals.
TDP Membership gives people the opportunity to participate in research, conservation and education. People who love dolphins, coastal Georgia and South Carolina, the marine environment, enjoy being outdoors and wish to actually participate in scientific field research are ideal candidates for The Dolphin Project. TDP seeks to add more members to its all-volunteer force which surveys the coastal waters of Georgia and the southern portion of South Carolina. Scientific experience is not necessary to participate in TDP’s long-term, year-round study of the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin. While TDP's field research is concentrated in Georgia and lower South Carolina, membership is open to all but, only those 18+ can participate in boat surveys. Our members are primarily from the southeast but there are several who reside across the United States. Training is required for those wishing to participate in dolphin surveys. For more information about our research surveys, click on the RESEARCH tab.
TDP members are also encouraged to participate in Education Outreach programs, administration, grant writing, help with various committees, attend quarterly dinners and make new friends with similar interests.
